This is the thirteenth chapter of the game Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.

Introduction[]

I visited the novelist's appartment again. I'm hoping to be able to do something about this "mistaken identity" kidnapping. As long as there's any possibility that it could be his own daughter who was kidnapped... I doubt the justice minister will call off the execution tonight.

The key to dispelling the minister's doubts is now in bed, coughing. And I need to use this key, before that prison van arrives to pick up our death-row inmate.

Plot[]

Sissel moves to Emma's apartment once again to convince the Justice Minister his daughter is safe. Amelie, still in a coughing fit, admits that she went out to buy a birthday present (a lighter) for her dad. Amelie wants to call her father, but Emma refuses. Ameile then yells "I hate you!" at Emma. Using the new lighter sitting on a shelf, Sissel causes a rope to burn, letting the telephone slide onto Amelie's bed. Emma then walks over, and argues to Amelie about calling her father. Ameile then states that all that Emma does is write "weird novels”, making Emma go into a fit of rage. She then throws the telephone up onto the top shelf.

Using his ghost tricks (and a very poor rat), Sissel causes a blackout in the apartment. Emma then lights a retractable chandelier to light up the room. Sissel then traps her in said chanelier. Using the fire from the chandelier (and the rat), he burns the rope on the higher shelf to slide the telephone onto Amelie's bed. Amelie promptly calls her father (who is very, very surprised). He tells her to apologize to her mother, which she does. Emma is still hanging from the chandelier, though.

Sissel then goes back to the Justice Minister's office. The Justice Minister thanks Sissel for his work, and starts to discuss the topic of a manipulator. The Justice Minister states that the manipulator was thought to be what made the 2 other special inmates to commit their crimes. He also believes it to be a ghost, one like Sissel. The Justice Minister reveals that he was controlled to sign Jowd's execution papers by said manipulator. He kept this to himself due to lack of evidence. He told Emma about this, causing her to move out, trying to force him to withdraw the order. Cabanela is then told that the manipulator is a spirit, and that Sissel is among them. He promptly speedwalks out the room, very confused, right before the telephone rings.

Lynne is on the other side, saying some kind of incident occurred. She then yells at Sissel to get over to the park. Sissel then leaves the office to see what happened.
