—Kamila

Kamila is a major character in Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. She is the daughter of Detective Jowd and Alma who treats Lynne like her sister. A cheerful girl despite all that happened to her, she stayed with Lynne after her father was arrested for a crime he confessed to, but did not commit. She's one of Missile's beloved mistresses that he'll die to protect. Like Lynne, Kamila is fond of listening to music with her headphones at volumes so loud that she can't hear anything nearby, even gunshots.

Appearance[]

Kamila is a young, thin girl. She has short lilac hair with bangs and a yellow bow on the back. She has black eyes. She wears a blue-white dress with wide sleeves and a red gem on the top. She also wears a set of white socks and brown shoes.

Plot[]

Five years before the events of the game, Kamila made a birthday Rube Goldberg surprise for her mother, never suspecting that she herself had been manipulated by Yomiel into adding her father's antique gun to the contraption. The gun shot and killed her mother before her eyes. In order to protect his daughter, her father then tampered with the scene to make it look as if he was the one who killed Alma, and was arrested in Kamila's place. Then, Kamila was brought to Lynne's apartment and resided there.

During the events of the game, she was caught by Tengo in the same apartment. The hitman wanted only Lynne however, and Kamila was tied up and gagged instead, until Sissel came along and reversed Missile's death by hiding the both of them under the sofa before Tengo came in.

After Tengo followed Lynne to the junkyard, Kamila received a call from Lynne to bring a music box (which she didn't know contained the antique gun that killed her mother) to Chicken Kitchen at Dead End Drive.

After finding the box with a little help from Sissel, Kamila goes on her way to Chicken Kitchen but was mistaken for Amelie, her neighbour, on the way and was kidnapped by Dandy. While getting kidnapped at Temsik Park, she managed to hide the box Lynne wanted and died once (crushed by Mino (Off-screen)) before being saved by Missile, though he was unable to stop the kidnapping and she was taken away. For most of the game she is kept in a huge red suitcase, which Dandy drags around. Sissel manages to talk to her when the kidnappers brought her to her old house, but due to Beauty's threat and sixth sense he was unable to rescue her.

Kamila was later brought onto the submarine Yonoa as well, where she was manipulated by Yomiel into waiting for her father with a gun. The ghost intended to kill Jowd by his own daughter's hands. Instead of Jowd, however, it was Lynne who came for her, and Kamila (controlled by Yomiel) was about to shoot Lynne when a torpedo hit the submarine, and Lynne threw herself into harm's way to save her. Lynne died then, crushed by the fallen debris, and Kamila was knocked unconscious.

After a while, Kamila regained consciousness and called the submarine's internal phone line for help, allowing Sissel to pick up her location and save Lynne. After Lynne was safe, she woke up briefly before fainting again until Yomiel saved both Lynne and her from drowning in the rising seawater coming into the doomed Yonoa.

When a plan was made to save Jowd, Kamila and Lynne were left behind in the sinking submarine as the ghosts, Sissel, Missile, and unknown to anyone, Yomiel, set off on a torpedo to the control room to change Yomiel's fate. They travel back in time, four minutes before Yomiel's own death, ten years prior. They meet the pre-teen Lynne who is taken by the hysterical Yomiel as hostage to hold off Detective Jowd. With the three ghosts combining their powers, the fated Temsik meterorite leaves a injures Jowd but spares Yomiel's life. Yomiel then saves Lynne from a falling monument and accepts defeat. Lynne thanks Jowd who gives her a detective badge, inspiring her to become a real detective like him and Sissel who was revealed to have been a cat is taken in by Jowd. With Yomiel's fate averted, the game's timeline is negated.

In the new timeline, Lynne has a celebratory party for her detective promotion with Kamila, Alma, Jowd and the immortal Sissel.

Powers and abilities[]

  • Mechanical skills - Kamila is very good with her hands, particularly when building elaborate mechanical contraptions. She built a complex contraption in her old home. When activated via the light switch, it sets off a chain of devices before finally igniting a party popper, intended to surprise its target. However, she was manipulated by Yomiel into turning the contraption into a deadly booby trap instead, killing whoever triggered the contraption.

Other appearances[]

Kamila appeared as a card in the mobile game called Street Fighter ✕ All Capcom

Trivia[]

  • Kamila was originally going to have a character theme, however Takumi decided against it as she appears at the same time as Missile. The song is still used in-game as the epilogue track "REINCARNATION".[1]
